Responsibilities

Work with IT Strategy and Implementation Team to define and execute the overall Application and Integration Compliance Strategy, Architecture Roadmap, Architecture Blueprints and Best Practices for YTL Communications Sdn Bhd (YTL Comms)

• To provide leadership to the software development teams.
• To manage the software development teams’ schedules.
• Is familiar with industry standards, application architecture best practices and compliance certification, and to drive efforts to bring application architecture and development into conformance with such standards.
• To implement Application Architecture Standards and Guidelines.
• To ensure sound engineering design, process and quality practices are followed in accordance to defined standards and guidelines.
• To implement Application Security Compliance for Portals.
• To ensure sound security engineering practices are followed in accordance to defined security compliance guidelines.
• To ensure architects/developers adhere the Architectural standard, guidelines and best practice defined by the IT Strategy and Implementation Team.
• To provide architectural and technical guidance to architects and developers.
• To ensure that developers delivers good quality and easy to maintain code – inclusive of proper and well written documentation.
• To build and lead engineering groups, contractors and 3rd party vendors development projects.
• To engage in hands-on, in-depth analysis, review and design of the software, including technical review and analysis of source code from both in-house developed code, as well as those provided by 3rd party vendors.
• To ensure the project implementation designs and evolution of application architectures within the organization’s initiative, being comply with internal and external standards and regulatory obligations.
• To support gating and approval of technical variations to systems.
• To provide employee coaching and mentoring.
• To drive hiring, corrective action and terminations (with IT Director and HR involvement) for software development teams.

Audit and review of architecture, and applications design, including activities of,

• Application Architecture Design and Code Review
• Business Process Design and Modeling
• Web Services Design and Architecture
• Application Quality Review
• To take on any new duty as per instruction from the direct reporting manager as is deemed appropriate and necessary to support the IT Department.

Job Requirements

Candidates should possess a higher education degree in the field of IT, Computer Science, Computer / Software Engineering with minimum 8 years to 11 years working experience.

The following skill-sets and experiences are required:

• Strong QA and Application Testing knowledge, with in depth software quality assurance experiences.
• Good understanding and knowledge on EAI, SOA, Data Integration, BPM and Message Brokers, Web Services, etc, concepts and technologies.
• Strong knowledge on design patterns such as GoF, GRASP etc.
• Proficient in Object Oriented Language and develops software on either one of the following –Java, C / C++etc.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in supporting and implementing enterprise Java applications.
• Minimum 5 years hands-on experience with advance technical skills on JPA or Hibernate, JMS, MVP / MVC, Tomcat, Spring Framework,, JTA, AJAX, Ruby, JQuery etc.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in supporting and  implementing project using one of the commercial or open source SOA / EAI Software Stack – e.g. Websphere, Weblogic, jBoss, Sun Java Systems, etc.
• A technology agnostic mentality with the ability to consider and implement a broad array of solutions; sensible and strong opinions about technology platforms, partners, and implementation
• An attuned aesthetic sensibility and an overriding appreciation for exceptional user experience as the ultimate goal of all design and development efforts
• Possess a proven background of both web application development and production deployment, including structuring robust database schemas and designing effective administrative back-ends with varied roles and permissions. 
• This candidate will also demonstrate deep experience with modern Web Frameworks (Web 2.0) and the ability to leverage them.
• Proficient in administrating of various Relational Databases, such as Oracle, MySQL, Informix, DB2, Microsoft SQL etc).
• Proficient in data system development, including data modeling and data normalization technique.
• Strong knowledge on SQL Queries and PL/SQL procedures.
• Proficient in following Operating System : Red Hat Linux, Solaris, HP-UX, Microsoft Windows Server.
• Good written and verbal communication skills - Ability to engage people at different technical levels.
• Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

• Enhance Telecommunications Operations Map (eTOM)
• Telecommunications Applications Map (TAM)  
• Service Delivery Platform (SDP)

Knowledge on various ADM such as TOGAF or Zachman will be of added advantages.
